my S & V game

As some of you know Im a bit of a Racketaholic. Throughout the 2 yrs Ive been playing i have continually analysed my progression, fitness and equipment. As i did with golf when i was younger over a period of 3 yrs I moved from a 9 handicapper to scratch using the same obsessive analysis. As iv… Continue

The most beautiful racket in the world!

Ive been playing with Prince Ozone Tour for the past 3 months and playing some of the most consistent stuff in 2 yrs. My problem with it is I cant serve with it! Maybe its the larger head I dont know, cant hit a hot serve and cant slice out wide. As my serve is my biggest weapon I decided to go… Continue

Customisation and Paint Jobs (join my group)

Tried the customised route and it works for me on a head LM radical and i.radical (strung weight 318g) I added an extra grip (15g) and lead top of handle (20g) and lead at 10 & 2 (10g) Total weight 363g, and 8 pts head light. These IMO are the best rackets to customise (the r… Continue

Dodgy knees and the hardcourt season.

Forget the grass court season August is my favourite time with Montreal, Cincinnatti and the US Open all on the hard courts, great games, great point, just great tennis. Who are your tri-bet for the series above, who will be number 1 when the US open is… Continue

Quarters?????

Im happy with my bracket selections as I have all the qrt finalists but Del Potro, With Hewitt being the surprise and playing so well he plays Roddick next. Ive put Roddick in the semi but as with Queens this could be very close. Im still going with Rod but if Leyon gets on a ro… Continue

Swingthoughts (BuST)

Ive been thinking a lot about swingthoughts lately and I know when I dont remind myself of these things then I play poorly. I would like to ask any others whether they have any swingthoughts that have helped them. I remember starting to drive and starting to play golf and I had a… Continue

The Full Western Experience

Went onto court for a few hours to try out playing with a full western/extreme grip. My normal grip is a semi western i thought but i think its a little more extreme than that, so looking at it, when i played yesterday it was with an extreme western (I think). Anyway I really e… Continue

Andy Murray on Clay

Its getting really annoying watching Murray on clay, he has the game for it as he can hit all the shots, his fitness is second to nadal so he can run around all day. Watching others like Monaco, Ljubicic and Verdasco all unlucky to lose in a way, they went for their shots, Murray it seems and this is what really annoys me is a better player but he wants to out think everyone and Del Potro last night just played to his strengths which to be honest for #5 in the world are nothing special and bulli… Continue

Nadal I admit it you're great!

Ive commented on a few blogs about hating Nadal etc and his aggressive style against the poetic, but after watching him dismantle Sonderling yesterday and Verdasco today, I concede, Im in awe, its just unbelievable tennis. He is just so good. Damn it, look what he's made me say!!… Continue

Talk Tennis and sack CORE and the advertisers please Mark!

Just logged on to see if there was any blogs on Rotterdam, San Jose etc to find a load of games advertised by Core which occupy all the main page blog space. Can Mark deal with this?? Ive logged on a few times of late to see kids 'love' t shirts etc being advertised. Is there a separate area for sales?? I certainly dont want to be commenting on whether I like the pink one or the blue one. Its not exactly BLOG is it. Continue

Nole's New Head Speed Pro

After initially hoping this was a paint job I have come round to liking it. It seems to be rather large at the top of the hoop like the Airflow/Crossbow technology, also the grip looks rounder like his wilson than the slightly rectangular normal Head grip. Looking at some interesting… Continue

Murray No.1??

There was an interesting article on tennis.com about Murray not winning a GS this year. It goes on and seems somewhat disturbed by all the praise the scot is getting and identifies some weeknesses and problems he is undoubtably going to encounter this year. What it fails to point out ( and this is why is seems like an anti Muray article) is that the Scot has the same swagger that Fed had in 2003, a feeling that no-one can beat him. we all know the look, because we have watched tennis for so long… Continue

Monfils out muscles Nadal!

Wow, great game by Monfils. He has had a lot of press about the qualities of this young frenchman but has yet to show his initial promise against the big boys. Nadal was not holding his punches today, although he did look a little rusty but give Gael his due he w… Continue

nadal v fed

Ive watched the final of nadal v fed at wimbledon 20 times now infact im doing it at the mo. Ive always believed that fed lost it in the first couple of sets. I think my love for feds game has biassed me towards the brute strength of nedals. Watching again i still cant love nedal but his forehand is exceptional if it was feds id be laughing all the way. There is another blog 'i hate nadal' but what i am asking is does his brute strength and undoubted top spin forehand mask his greatness or are w… Continue

Do all pro's go through this???

keep up to date at www.andymurray.com

11 December saw the guys go through arguably the toughest day of their training block so far. In common with the other nasty sessions, it started on the track at Tropical Park.

Weather

Im sick and tired of cold weather and so jealous of a lot of you out there getting out of bed having some breakfast in your pants then going for a game of tennis in the sun! At the moment here in UK its bloody freezing, theres frost on the ground and an icy wind. Not great tennis weather and all my indoor courts are booked up for weeks. Now I have to go shopping with the wife instead, life is so unfair!!!! I hope you think of me whilst hitting your forehands in the sun, I'll be the miserable one… Continue

Murray crashes out to Davydenko in Shanghai

Andy Murray today crashed out of the Tennis Master's Cup after a straights set defeat to Russia's Nikolay Davydenko, 7-5, 6-2. It was clear from the off that the Scot was feeling the after effects of his epic match with Roger Federer less than 24 hours earlier. The… Continue

The Greatest Generation- Good article on Tennis.com by Tom Perotta

We’ve all had the debate before. Who’s the greatest (fill in the blank) of all time? Which World Series champion would beat all others? (The 2004 Red Sox, of course.) Which Super Bowl winner is the finest of them all? In tennis, we’ve been talking about the G.O.A.T. since Roger Federer turned in his first three-major-title season in 2004. As 2008 comes to a close and the best men, minus a banged up Rafael Nadal, travel to Shanghai, ask yourself, how does the current Top 10 compare to similar co… Continue

Murray on first win in Shanghai

Apart from the second set, which was kind of weird, the rest of it looked pretty controlled domination. Yeah. I hit the ball well for most of the match. I just didn't serve well in the second set. I had a chance to break him right at the start of the second - If I'd… Continue

Murray for Shanghai

I think Andy Murray is the favourite for the Masters Cup and rightly so as he must be the in form player and with Federer in his group I can see him meeting him in the final. He is playing so well and I think next year he could go very far hopefully winning his first GS i… Continue
